Kids will love the hands-on exhibitions in every gallery and the People’s History Museum organises regular kids activities. Recommend even for families with younger kids as the Busy Bee explore packs are fantastic way for little ones to discover the museum and you can even have a picnic in the Engine Hall. The museum is located less than 1.5km walk from us on Bridge Street.
The multi-award winning museum explores how people’s lives have been and still are shaped by war and conflict. The Imperial War Museum North is situated on the Quays. If you hop on the Metro from Shudehill you can change to the Eccles-Piccadilly Line (pink) to Harbour Quay stop, the museum is then less than 10 minutes walk.
You can easily reach Heaton Park by taking the Metro directly from Shudehill to the Heaton Park stop, as well as enjoying the open spaces, sports pitches, playgrounds, rowing boats, Pitch & Putt and kitchen gardens kids will love the Animal Centre (home to goats, sheep, alpacas, rabbits, poultry and more). The park regularly hosts outdoor theatre, events and funfairs – checkout their site for the current programme.
