Premier Apartments Manchester Accessibility

 

Introduction

Premier Apartments Manchester is an established provider of quality serviced apartments in the City centre.
We are located in the Northern Quarter, just off the inner ring road with an enviable location a short walk away from the MEN Arena, Arndale shopping centre and The Printworks entertainment complex.
We have 60 apartments in the building comprising 32 two-bed and 28 one bed apartments.
The apartments being fully equipped with kitchens and dining rooms, we do not have any on-site bars or restaurants, but given our location, a plethora of these are but a short walk away.
A limited number of secure car parking spaces are also available in the basement of the building.

Pre-Arrival

• Guests can reserve on-line on the web-site, where they are able to check availability, view our location, get directions and browse local attractions.
• As soon as a reservation is made, e-mail confirmation is sent to the guest with all relevant details of their booking.
• As the office closes at 21h00 if guests arrive after this time, access codes are communicated to the guests prior to closing.  There is also an emergency phone number displayed outside all entrances to the building in case guests have any problems when arriving.
• This emergency number is also given on our out of hours answerphone message, so all guests will have means of contacting a member of staff at anytime during the day or night.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

• 20 spaces available located in the basement of the building (of which 3 are disabled).  Parking is chargable.
• Spaces are to be reserved prior to arrival due to limited numbers.
• Accessed via Salmon Street at the rear of the building
• Intercom to reception at bottom of access ramp along with emergency phone no.
• CCTV in operation and code accessed via shutter gate
• Designated spaces clearly marked on walls
• Good and clear signage indicating use of CCTV & disclaimers.
• Smooth concrete finish to floor.
• No traffic calming measures in place.
• Car park is spacious making manoevrability easy.
• Secure access to the main apartment building from car park direct (with access code only), with lift to all floors including main reception

Main Entrance & Reception

• There are 2 entrances to the apartments from the main road.
• 1 is for the main reception which is only open during hours of operation - see below.
• The other is the main entrance / exit to the apartments which can be used at all times by guests.  This is a single, side-hung, wooden door which is locked at all times and accessible only by codes which are given to guests upon check-in.
• The codes are changed weekly for security purposes and all in-house guests are informed accordingly.
• The main reception entrance is a single, side-hung, glass door in the centre of a full glass-fronted front - door width = 100cm
• All areas of the reception and adjoining lift lobby area are wheelchair accessible

Public Areas - General (Internal)

• The main entrance and all of the reception area is carpeted
• Reception has a permanent hearing loop installed
• Public television in reception has teletext facilities
• Public toilet in the main reception area which is a disabled toilet
• All lighting is uniform, with spotlights the predominant source
• The other entrance is an entrance corridor which has marble flags with a rug laid down the main walkway.
• The lift lobby area has marble flags as flooring.
• There is 1 lift which accesses all floors including the basement level where the car park is located
• Lift has anti-slip tiles laid to floor
• Infra red sensors for open / close
• Emergency button inside lift for breakdowns linked direct to a 24 hr line
• All public corridors are carpeted.
• Emergency staircase goes from the top floor to the basement and is carpeted from the basement to the 1st floor only.  From the 2nd floor up the flooring is concrete, painted with anti-slip masonary paint.
